On Sunday we looked at James 1:13-18. Here are some questions for discussion:
- James 1:13 gives a direction. In verses 14-18, James teaches about temptation and about God’s goodness. How do these teachings support the direction in verse 13? How does this passage help you think rightly about Jesus’ influence in your life?
- How does the progression of temptation from desire to sin work according to James 1:14-15? How have you seen that in your own life?
- To keep us from blaming God, James gives us several reminders about God’s goodness. How can you preach to yourself about God’s goodness, and praise God for his goodness in an ongoing way this week?
For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:7-8
