Cambodia Trip Itinerary

Greeting, RCC!

Here’s a rough schedule of how we will spend our time in Cambodia.

FYI: Cambodia is 12 hours ahead of Chicago; Seoul is 14 hrs ahead.

For the Kids Camp, we have been told to expect 200-250 kids, who speak Khmer. There will be 15 of us, who don’t speak Khmer! Haha. Prayers appreciated and needed!

Monday, Sept 9

12:25 p.m. Depart Chicago.   Korean Air


Tuesday, Sept 10

4:25 p.m. Arrive in Seoul, Korea (If my calculations are correct, this is 2:25 a.m. Chicago time)
6:40 p.m. Depart Seoul (4:40 a.m. Chicago time)
10:10 p.m. Arrive in Phnom Penh (10:10 a.m. Chicago time) Take bus to hotel. Sleep!


Wednesday, Sept 11

8:00 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel. Tim and Dar will join us
9:00 a.m. take bus to Jumpah. Unpack and settle in
11:30 a.m.  Lunch   10 minute walk to Rozo’s (small cafe) We will eat all of our meals here
1:00-2:30 p.m.  Team conducts Teaching Session with Jumpah teachers and staff. During the same time, 4-5 from our Team will lead activities with kindergartners
2:30-3:00 p.m.   Break/hang out with kindergartners
3:00-4:30 p.m.  Breakouts (Team divides into 3 groups)
– 1. Kindercare  – storytime, songs, play (Ladies)
– 2. Farm/woodshop – learning and engaging with  farm/woodshop staff(men)
– 3. Andersons, Tatums, Kosses, meet/pray with potential church leaders
5:00 p.m.  Dinner


Thursday, Sept 12

7:00 a.m. Breakfast
8:00 a.m.  Kids Camp begins! Team divides into 6 stations: Gaga Ball, 3 way soccer, dodgeball, capture the flag, relays, kickball. Each camper will play 2 stations per day.
10:00 a.m. Snack
10:15 a.m. Team leads a Teaching Session with Jumpah teachers and staff during the same time 4-5 of our Team will lead activities with kindergartners.
2:30-3:00 p.m.  Break/hangout with kindergartners
3:00-4:30 p.m.  Breakouts (Team breaks  into 3 groups)

Saturday, Sept 14

7:00 a.m. Breakfast
8:00 a.m.  Last day of Kids Camp Ages 10-17 6  stations: Gaga Ball, 3 way soccer, dodgeball, capture the flag, relays, kickball
10:00 a.m. Snack
10:15 a.m. Team leads Music/Teaching with kids
11:30  a.m. Lunch
1:00-2:30 p.m. Team leads Discussion on church planting
2:30 p.m. Break
3:00-4:30 p.m. Worship and Music discussion with potential worship leaders
5:00 p.m. Dinner


Sunday, Sept 15

7:00 a.m. Breakfast
8:00 – 9:00 a.m.  Church Service with staff
9:00- 10:00 a.m. Church Service with Village Kids and families.
10:00 a.m. Lunch with village families Pack up.
12:00 p.m. Team takes bus to Siem Reap Stops provided along the way, to tour the countryside
7:00 p.m. Arrive in Siem Reap; check-in to hotel


Monday, Sept 16

Tour Angkor Wat

Pyykkonens travel to Jakarta in the afternoon; departing for CHI Sunday, 22nd


Sunday, Sept 22

Rachel, Treas, Nick, Sarah and Josiah travel back to Phnom Penh and then fly to Thailand Tuesday Morning, returning home


Tuesday, Sept 17

Remaining 8 Team members tour Angkor Wat/Siem Reap Travel by bus back to Phnom Penh

11:20 p.m. Fly to Seoul  (11:20 a.m. Chicago time)


Wednesday, Sept 18

10:40 a.m. Depart Seoul to Chicago (8:40 p.m. Chicago time)
9:25 a.m. Arrive back in Chicago.
