Do you ever wonder about God’s love for you – if He really loves you, how He could love you, what that love is really like?
In the Old Testament book of Exodus, Moses asks God to show him His ways so that he can know Him and find favor in His sight. In response, God describes Himself in the well-known passage in Exodus 34:6-7. It begins, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands…”
Translated from the Hebrew word hesed, God’s “steadfast love” is mentioned 196 times in the ESV translation of the Old Testament; 127 of those times are in Psalms. If God has revealed this aspect of His character with such frequency in Scripture, we should be sure we understand exactly what it means! As we wrap up our 8-month study in the Psalms, we want to explore more deeply God’s hesed, or steadfast love.
Please join us on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 pm at Lindsey Hunt’s home for our next women’s event: Steadfast: A Look at God’s Love in the Psalms. We will turn our attention to God’s steadfast love through worship, testimonies, teaching, and fellowship—plus dessert, tangible evidence of God’s love for us! It is our hope that each of us will walk away knowing God better and understanding more fully the depth of His love for His children. You do not need to have completed (or even started!) the Psalms study to come, so invite a friend and mark your calendar!
Please let your fellowship group leader know whether you’ll be attending.
