For the past four Sundays, we have been highlighting the missionaries and mission organizations who are recipients of the Redeemer Mission Grants. We began taking applications for Redeemer Mission Grants in July. We received over 20 applications and gave out grants to 13 different missionaries or mission organizations that are dedicated to spreading the gospel throughout the world for a total of $11,400. The gifts ranged from $300 to $1200. We wanted to focus on mission that is reaching out to unreached peoples, spreading the gospel through both proclaiming the word and performing good deeds, that we might have the potential to become long-term partners in gospel ministry.
These gifts included three missions stationed in Europe, three missions in Africa, six missions in Asia, and one mission in South America. Some of the missionaries and mission organizations can freely discuss their ministries publicly, while others must be very careful due to placements in locations that are outwardly hostile to gospel witness. Please feel free to contact either Michael VanHuis (mvanhuis@redeemercom.org) or Jason Mead (jmead@redeemercom.org) and they will be happy to assist you with any questions that you have.
You can find more information about each of these ministries on the members-only portion of the website. As a result of the hostile environments of some of our missionaries, the summary pages for each of the grant recipients on the members-only part of the website will vary in detail depending on how much information can be shared. Again, if you want more information than can be posted publicly, please feel free to talk to Michael or Jason.
We will continue to keep you updated on these ministries over the coming year and try to report on the impact of our financial and prayer investment in these ministries.
Thanks for your partnership in the gospel. Your continued generosity in giving to God’s Kingdom through your financial and prayer gifts to Redeemer Community Church makes our ability to financially support God’s global mission possible.
In Christ,
Michael VanHuis and Jason Mead (on behalf of the elders)
