Playlist for this Sunday 3/22/20

Church family,

As we continue to navigate these days and weeks of social distancing and the absence of regular person to person fellowship, I want to encourage us all to keep pressing on to worship the Lord through singing!   You know who keeps on singing through uncertainty and fear?  Christians do.  Who keeps on singing even when the world seems to be crumbling around them?  People who know that their hope is in a faithful God!

Here’s why we need to keep singing –

  • Singing will remind our hearts of what is true about God.   What do we need more than this, seriously?  Colossians 3:16“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (ESV)
  • Singing will encourage others to hope in God.   We can strengthen the faith of our family and friends by boldly singing the praises of God.  Read Psalm 34.
  • Singing the promises of God announces to all creation that Jesus has won.  Death and Satan are defeated, we have conquered through the blood of the Lamb.  Romans 8:35–39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ” (ESV)

This Sunday whether it is with your immediate family, a few friends, or just yourself you have a song to sing – it’s the song of the redeemed!

Here is a Spotify playlist to help you get started.  There are other really good song lists out there too, you can check them out here and here.

If there are other resources that I can provide for you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
