Youth Summer Camp is right around the corner! It looks like all-told, we’ll be bringing around 70 people to Dickson Valley Camp from June 5-8 for a week of the kind of fun that is leading me strongly in the direction of preemptive naps. There is sure to be a lot of laughing, a lot of playing, plenty of eating, curious smells in the wrong direction, and memories to last a lifetime.
More importantly, we’ll be spending a lot of time singing to Jesus and looking at God’s Word together. I know you wish you could come, but here are two ways you CAN be involved (even from the pleasant-smelling comfort of your own home):
1. Pray!
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). We will have fun. That’s a given. We will get tired. No doubt about that. We will preach God’s Word. That’s a non-negotiable. What happens in the hearts of the youth is in the Lord’s hands. Please pray for Him to move in powerful ways while we step outside of our normal environments and routines. You will receive a more detailed prayer list in the days to come, but please begin praying for softened hearts even now.
2. Give!
In addition to paying for each of our counselors to serve at camp, we desire to see every youth attend regardless of financial need. We will provide partial or full scholarships for nearly 20 campers this year. While some of these funds have already been designated through our youth ministry budget, there are needs beyond what we’ve already set aside. The total cost for a camper/counselor is $175. If you would like to contribute toward a partial or full registration cost, you can do so this Sunday. Please make a check out to Redeemer Community Church and write “Youth Camp Registration” in the memo line.
Thank you for playing a significant role in Youth Camp 2017. May our loving God be pleased to multiply our offerings for the eternal good of our youth and to the glory of His great name!
