World Relief Summer Camp

 

World Relief’s Summer Camp is a vital resource for immigrant/refugee children entering grades 1 through 5. Your commitment to fostering positive relationships, promoting English language proficiency, and creating engaging learning environments has been instrumental in the camp’s success.

Camp Dates: July 9 – August 1
Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
Time: 9:00am – 12:30pm

Where: Batavia Covenant 1314 Main St, Batavia, IL 60510

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • GROUP LEADER. Volunteers, aged 18 years or older, assist World Relief staff in organizing and overseeing large group games, as well as leading preplanned small group activities. Requires a time commitment from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
  • TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT. Drive campers to and from camp each day.  Must be 21 or older. (To Camp 8:15- 9:00am and Home 12:00- 12:45pm).
  • FLOATER. You will be paired with a group leader to help set up activities and assist with small and large group activities. Great role for High School Students.

Whether you can serve for one week or commit to all 4, your presence is invaluable in shaping the experiences of our campers.

Requirements for Returning Volunteers:

  • Your continued dedication and enthusiasm
  • Background check required for volunteers 18 years and older (if not previously completed)
  • Signed parent consent form required for volunteers under 18 years old (if not previously submitted)
