World Relief’s Global Gala

World Relief’s Global Gala

If your evenings are starting to feel a little monotonous, (Groundhog Day, anyone?) we have a wonderful opportunity for you this Thursday night. As part of our desire to “stand with the vulnerable,” Redeemer made a $2500 donation to World Relief this week which would normally include the sponsorship of a ten-person table at their annual Global Gala. This year, like most everything else, their gala is going online, giving many more of us the opportunity to join in this fun and informative event.

World Relief explains, “The Global Gala broadcast will feature a powerful performance by singer/songwriter Ephraim Bugumba, a moving testimony from author and entrepreneur Mawi Asgedom, and a firsthand glimpse at the ways that you can respond to the needs of our refugee and immigrant neighbors.”

Today’s uncertainties are only multiplied for our refugee friends, who face language barriers, employment insecurity, and an unfamiliar healthcare system. Please consider spending your Thursday evening leaning in to learn more about how you can stand with these precious people.

Want to do more to support local refugees this week? Check out these options:

  • Bid on a Global Gala auction item. The online auction is open now through 9pm on April 23rd.
  • Order take-out from an immigrant-owned restaurant for your gala dinner. Choose from your favorite local Indian, Mexican, Ethiopian, Burmese, Brazilian, or Mediterranean spot.
  • Make a donation to World Relief at registration or here.

We hope you’ll join us on Thursday, April 23 at 7:00pm for this special evening! The Global Gala is a free event, but registration is required to access it.
